Innisfil Community Foundation: Community Round Up

Community Round Up – Nov. 6, 2020

There are so many good things happening in and around Innisfil. We want to keep you connected, which is why we put together this community round-up sharing the latest from Innisfil Community Foundation (ICF), updates from our grantees, and news from across our community.

The latest from ICF

  • Our Board of Directors is hard at work reviewing Emergency Community Support Fund applications. We’ll reach out to all charities on the status of your application in the next week or two, and we look forward to announcing the grant recipients later this month.

Grantee Updates

  • Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation has announced two new fundraisers! Their virtual “Home for the Holidays” fundraising event takes place on Thursday, November 26th. A $150 ticket gives you a gourmet, 3-course dinner from the Nottawasaga Inn and a special dessert from Murphy’s Farm Market & Bakery. Or, for a $50 ticket, you can forego the food and enjoy the virtual festivities. Stevenson has also launched a 50/50 Raffle, with a draw every month from November through February. All funds raised support the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation’s greatest needs.
  • C4K (formerly Christmas for Kids) is launching their 2020 toy campaign! A donation bin is available at Innisfil Town Hall (located at 2101 Innisfil Beach Road) until December 18, 2020. Anyone dropping off toys will be asked to wear masks and practice COVID-19 hand hygiene and physical distancing while at Town Hall.

Community News

  • Last week we told you that local resident Jennifer Richardson has created a Halloween decorating contest in support of the Innisfil Food Bank and C4K. The event raised $1,150 which was split between both charities. A great example of how a community can come together to raise spirits and funds!
  • Did you know that Habitat for Humanity is planning a build right here in Innisfil? Although construction won’t take place until next fall, Habitat for Humanity is looking for families to apply to this cutting-edge, eco-friendly build. Learn more at this webinar on November 18th at 7 p.m., hosted by our friends at the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library.
