Reflections on 2020

We can all agree that 2020 was a year we won’t soon forget …

For Innisfil Community Foundation (ICF), 2020 was our first year in operation. We knew that we would learn a lot in our first year, but never expected a learning curve like this!

The biggest lesson we learned was just how strong and resilient our local charities are. Local charities have done an incredible job of rising to the challenges presented by COVID-19. They have pivoted, they have re-imagined service delivery, and they have come up with creative ways to support the community through these unprecedented times.

At ICF, we are humbled to have played a role in our community’s response and recovery, granting $179,575 to local charities this year. Beyond the cheque, we have embraced the opportunity to get to know local charities and nonprofits to gain a better understanding of the important work they are doing.

We know there will be more tough times ahead but we believe that, together, we can support our community through future challenges. We look forward to more opportunities to collaborate in the coming year – because a connected community is a strong community.
