Strengthening Community Partnerships in Innisfil

Grant to support the 2022 Innisfil Farmers’ Market Season

Innisfil Community Foundation (ICF), the YMCA of Simcoe Muskoka and the Innisfil Farmer’s Market have joined together to support health, wellness and our local farming community.

A $4,600 grant donated from ICF and facilitated by the YMCA means that the Innisfil Farmer’s Market is set for a safe and successful 2022 season. The grant will help ensure that the market meets COVID-19 safety protocols and provides market enhancements to support both the market and the community.

“We’re filled with pride to be a part of this success story,” says Jaime Grant, Market Manager, Innisfil Farmers’ Market. “It is with gratitude that we accept Innisfil Community Foundation’s funding through the YMCA’s partnership. Without this support, we simply wouldn’t be able to produce a lively and full market for everyone to enjoy.”

“The YMCA is dedicated to the growth of all persons in spirit, mind and body,” says Dale Rowe, General Manager, Philanthropy, YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka. “Access to fresh, nourishing food is an important part of overall wellness – we were happy to help make this possible.”

Created from partnerships with the Town of Innisfil and the Ontario Lottery & Gaming Corporation, Innisfil Community Foundation is committed to fostering relationships within Innisfil. ICF aims to be a true partner to the organizations working hard to make the community a better place – this means developing relationships with community organizations to fully understand their needs and impact. This approach allows ICF to help organizations establish new partnerships to meet their goals and to expand on its support.

“We believe that we can do so much more as a community, when we work together towards common goals,” says Sandra Rizzardo, Chair, Innisfil Community Foundation Board of Directors. “It’s inspiring to see these organizations come together and support each other in this way.”

The Innisfil Farmers’ Market opens on Thursday, June 2nd at the YMCA South Lot. In addition to the vendors you know and love, there is a full roster of new bakers, small farms and handmade items joining the market this year. Come out and show your support!
